Dr. Libna Palma is a comprehensive optometrist at the Shiley Eye Institute specializing in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma and ocular disease. As a member of the Shiley Glaucoma team, she evaluates and monitors glaucoma suspects and provides ongoing care for patients with glaucoma.
Dr. Palma also sees patients at the Urgent Eye Clinic, where she evaluates and treats acute eye conditions such as flashes and floaters, sudden vision loss, eye pain, double vision, infections, and ocular injuries.
Dr. Palma is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered eye care. She believes in educating patients about their eye health and working collaboratively to develop treatment plans that preserve vision and support long-term ocular health.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She completed a residency in ocular disease at the Manchester VA Medical Center in New Hampshire, where she received advanced training in the management of glaucoma and retinal conditions.
Dr. Palma has worked in many clinical settings including a VA hospital, a community health clinic, private practice and corporate Optometry settings thus expanding her clinical skills to better serve her patients.
Dr. Palma is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
