Manuel Puig-Llano

Manuel Puig-Llano, MD, FACS, FASRS, is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Shiley Eye Institute. Dr. Puig received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico. He completed an Ophthalmology Residency at Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico and the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Puig completed Fellowships in Cornea and Retina/Vitreous at the University of California, San Francisco and Universidad de Barcelona. Upon graduation, Dr. Puig worked at his father’s ophthalmology practice in Mexico City for 6 years. Dr. Puig moved to the San Diego area where he opened a clinic in Chula Vista and practiced for over 30 years.

Dr. Puig has volunteered on numerous medical missions to the Philippines and Mexico to specifically help diabetic retinopathy in the patient population.

He is fluent in Spanish and English.
