About This Location

The Hamilton Glaucoma Center at the UC San Diego Shiley Eye Institute (SEI) provides state-of the art laboratories and clinical research facilities to support the extensive glaucoma research program in the Viterbi Family Department of Ophthalmology. SEI glaucoma investigators, in collaboration with other institutions worldwide, have overseen countless basic science and clinical research projects conducted at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center contributing to groundbreaking advancements in glaucoma diagnosis and care.

The Hamilton Glaucoma Center offers advanced and investigational diagnostic services for glaucoma. These services include comprehensive optic nerve imaging, anterior segment imaging, functional testing of both vision and blood flow, novel tests of intraocular pressure, and evaluation of medical and surgical treatments for glaucoma. Additionally, the center runs specialized programs designed to support innovative glaucoma research with novel analytic methods, including artificial intelligence.
